Workshopping Riddles from a Troll’s Riddles Three

Fluorg, some good work here except where otherwise noted. I’ve separated your pitches into sections in the hopes of streamlining my feedback, and clarifying what we’re looking for.

Remember, it’s not getting an answer as much as creating an experience–not may they pass, but also should they? What will they need to muster to survive the remainder of the pivotal journey, is it inside them/has it been all along, etc? What will answering these riddles elicit, and what should stay in their memory for the upcoming passage?

Please revise based on this feedback, looking forward to another round.

Final/ready for Curtis and Borg to roll out under GW Bridge after nightfall date TBD. Nice!

1. Friends, we have many if we’re lucky in life. For ole Chandler Bing, a friend became wife. If two are called siblings, four have romantic ends, who of the six can we truly call “Friends”?

2. Susie went sober ‘cause 31’s rough, so she orders a mocktail with juices and stuff. If it’s $17 when boozy and $14 when not, where on the menu is the $3 shot?

3. Jess’ cookies are packaged and ready to sell. “Proceeds save the rainforest!” customers hear her yell. As she adds some more sprinkles to her philanthropic quest, I ask why the rainforest saving falls to Jess?

Can tighten—Kurg doesn’t need them to rhyme but let’s keep formatting consistent. Also not sure how many humans have seen The Brave Little Toaster? Maybe de-emphasize in V2?

4. Eight quarters need I for a full load of clothes. If I hang things to dry, I can save loads. If I need two full tumbles for towels and sheets, should I just go to a laundromat? Maybe if there’s a hookup in my unit I could buy my own appliances. Should I just ask my property manager? She’s really cool.

5. Trish wants to summer on Italy’s coast, but biking is what her beau Marty loves most. If they stay at a spot near the White Lotus place, how many prostitutes will they each have sex with probably?

6. Three toasters are driving down the street at 65 miles an hour. One of them is the star of the 1987 film The Brave Little Toaster one is from The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue (1997) the other one is YOUR toaster, your personal toaster from home that you’ve always had. Maybe it was a roommate’s and you took it thinking it was yours. If all three toasters arrive at their destination at the same time, which toaster do you clean first? Does it matter? Does any of this?

7. It’s time to restructure at Jim’s Big Boot Ale House. Jim takes a good hard long look at his staff. If Tania and Jeff work for Jenna and Bob, why is Jim even there? What does he add?

Can fine tune—note if these are researchable or subjective, we tend to have a harder time denying passage. Avoid riddles that depend on the identity of the troll asking—evergreen is the goal!

8. What has 2-4 good lines, different rules on Sundays, and no tolerance for my free-wheelin’ bohemian lifestyle? [A good parking spot, A bank, An ex]

9. If I don’t have any ill will towards anyone I went to high school with, and I’ve really worked on the social anxiety stuff, why can’t I stay in this Barnes and Noble when I see a former classmate? Even if I’m already in line?

10. Tricia was deciding which produce to use when the light went out in her refrigerator. Does she need a normal light bulb or to order a special kind from some kind of refrigerator store?

11. Four men stand against a brick wall NOT wearing hats. Do you think you could identify Jason Mraz if he were one of these men?

12. How was the creative team from The Brave Little Toaster able to release a 1998 film The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars, only one year after the aforementioned The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue?

Let’s discuss these in my office EOW!

13. Why can’t you just let the microwave hit zero before opening it? What do you think you gain from popping it out there with 4 seconds on the clock, hmm? Must you control EVERYTHING?

14. Will you let me out from under this bridge? Please? Can I come with you?

15. What would be in a refrigerator store?

16. Assuming it retained the growth and lessons from the first three films, if The Brave Little Toaster walked into a refrigerator store today, would it be among friends or start a war the likes of which we’ve never seen?
